About Us

The Kenai Peninsula GIS User Group (KPGUG) was established with the goal of bringing together local GIS Users to exchange information, technical expertise, and data. This group will also provide a common link to the larger Alaska Arc User Group.

» GIS Awareness

November 13-19, 2011 was The National Geographic Society's Geography Awareness Week, and part of the Society's Geography Action initiative. A component of this is GIS Day, which provides an opportunity for users of geographic information systems (GIS) to demonstrate how this technology makes a difference in organizations, communities, and society.

The Kenai Peninsula GIS User Group participated by displaying posters in our community, showing the collective GIS-based projects by members of our group during the year 2011.
